We are seeking an experienced and motivated Cancer Care Coordinator to join our dedicated team at Port Lincoln Hospital. In this pivotal role, you will provide expert clinical leadership and specialist cancer care coordination, ensuring patients receive safe, evidence-based, and seamlessly coordinated care across their cancer journey.

As a senior clinician, you will:

  • Provide expert cancer care coordination and facilitate delivery of evidence-based oncology/haematology services.
  • Lead clinical decision-making, support staff development, and contribute to high-quality patient outcomes through innovation and best practice.
  • Coordinate local systems and processes to enhance service integration, quality improvement, risk management, and continuity of care.
  • Guide and mentor staff, foster a strong learning culture, and support the delivery of safe chemotherapy services through training oversight.
  • Participate in service planning, research activities, policy development, and multidisciplinary teamwork to continually strengthen cancer service delivery.

Essential Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (or eligible for registration) with at least 3 years post-registration experience, with demonstrated competence in Oncology/Haematology.
  • A strong and confident leader with advanced communication, problem-solving, conflict-resolution and change-management skills.
  • A collaborative team member who can prioritise workload, support staff development, and drive innovation, quality improvement, and consumer-engagement initiatives.
  • Someone with sound knowledge of relevant legislation, standards, quality systems, and confidentiality requirements, with a deep understanding of multidisciplinary cancer care and care-coordination complexities.
