About the role

The Administration Officer provides confidential administrative support to the Paediatric Forensic Medical Service (PFMS) and the Child Protection Service (CPS). Working independently, they ensure efficient operations, manage competing priorities, and deliver high-quality customer service. The role involves working within a multidisciplinary team to contribute to the overall effectiveness of CPS, while maintaining the organisation and meeting deadlines.

Key duties of the role

  • Typing medico-legal reports, statutory declarations, and routine correspondence, ensuring accuracy and professionalism.
  • Transcribing reports and correspondence, and carefully reviewing documents for spelling/grammar errors and correct client information.
  • Ensuring all correspondence is sent to referring agents (SAPOL/Dept for Child Protection) while maintaining strict confidentiality and prioritizing workload demands.

Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrated competence in accurately typing and transcribing complex medical documents, including proofreading and editing.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, with a diverse group of consumers in challenging and emotionally distressing situations.
  • Proven ability to handle sensitive information with integrity whilst always maintaining confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while contributing to a multi-disciplinary team to achieve outcomes.
  • Experience and competence, in the use of computers including Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel and Outlook) and image manipulation (i.e. Paint 3D)
