Allied and Community Health Service

Our Allied and Community Health Teams are multi-disciplinary teams who work together towards the common goal of improving health outcomes of our community members. Services are based in Port Augusta and Whyalla, with regular outreach clinics held in Roxby Downs, Quorn, Hawker, Maree and Leigh Creek. We offer a wide range of centre-based, in-home and community-based services to people of all ages and tailor our services to best meet our client needs. About the Role:

As an Allied Health Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the Community Mental Health Team by assisting in the delivery of high-quality allied health services under the supervision of Allied Health Professionals (AHPs). Working with clearly defined direction, you will provide hands-on support with patient care activities, including applying specialised clinical screenings and treatments, monitoring patient responses, and reporting outcomes to the supervising AHP. Your duties may also involve assisting with patient preparation, transport, and personal care, ensuring dignity and respect at all times. In addition, you will help facilitate therapy sessions, support patient movement, act as a chaperone when requested, and deliver patient education on a range of topics as directed. This is a rewarding role where your contribution will directly enhance the care and wellbeing of individuals with complex needs.

About You:

  • Certificate 4 in Allied Health Assistance, or equivalent.
  • Experience working in a service environment.
