About the role

Join the WCHN Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service Guardianship Service team to provide clinical expertise for children, adolescents and their families with mental health issues who are in alternative care.

This role will provide expert assessment and care for clients and/or provide clinical leadership for multidisciplinary staff.

Key duties of the role

  • Provide a therapeutic/clinical triage, assessment and intervention service for children and young people in alternative care.
  • Ensure services are delivered in a culturally responsive manner
  • Participate in programs and processes that enhance service delivery to children and young people in alternative care.
  • Work in partnership with consumers, carers and external agencies

Skills and Experience

  • Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which gives eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers; or
  • Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification with entitles registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia; or
  • Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification as recognised by the Psychology Board of Australia. Must hold general registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.
  • Extensive clinical experience in the treatment and management of complex child and adolescent mental health issues.
