About the role
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Practitioner Dentist to provide high-quality dental care to eligible clients with complex oral health needs. In this rewarding role, you will deliver advanced clinical services while playing a key part in achieving the clinical objectives and performance targets of Statewide Dental Services (SWDS) within the local district. Your expertise will ensure patients receive safe, effective, and timely treatment that makes a real difference in their oral health and overall wellbeing.

As a senior member of the team, you will provide clinical leadership and mentoring to colleagues, supporting the development of skills and confidence in managing more complex cases. You will also contribute to the implementation of SWDS clinical programs and directions, and provide expert advice to the Chief Dental Officer and Statewide Lead Clinicians in shaping policies, procedures, and Clinical Practice Guidelines. This is an exciting opportunity to combine advanced clinical practice with leadership and service development in a supportive and collaborative environment.

About You
You will be a highly skilled and motivated dental professional who brings advanced clinical expertise, leadership capability and a genuine commitment to improving oral health outcomes. To be successful in this role, you will hold the appropriate registrations and licences, alongside strong experience in delivering complex dental care and providing guidance to colleagues.

Key requirements include:

  • Registrable as a dentist with the Dental Board of Australia, and holding a current Radiation Licence with the EPA (SA).

  • Demonstrated experience in providing high-quality, contemporary general and emergency dental care, including complex cases.

  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to guide, mentor and influence clinicians while working effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

  • Advanced knowledge of oral health service provision and a commitment to evidence-based practice, service improvement and public health principles.

  • Regular intrastate travel and remote support to Eyre& York-Mid North District.
