Join our dedicated team at Elmhaven Hostel in Streaky Bay and help provide exceptional care for elderly residents in a supportive, team-based environment. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to contribute to the wellbeing and comfort of residents while gaining valuable experience in aged care.

As a Direct Care Worker, you’ll assist with the care and supervision of residents, including input into their assessments, documenting observations, and identifying diversional therapy needs. You will also ensure routine documentation is completed in line with policies and procedures. This is your chance to be part of a holistic, client-centred care team that truly makes a difference.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the daily care needs of residents, including personal hygiene and mobility
  • Record general observations and contribute to resident assessments
  • Support diversional therapy activities for individuals and groups
  • Complete documentation according to established policies and procedures
  • Build strong, empathetic relationships with residents and their families

What we’re looking for:

  • Completed AQF Certificate III relevant to the position
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team
  • Empathy and commitment to maintaining resident confidentiality
  • Willingness to learn and develop in a professional setting
