Are you a committed and compassionate Registered Midwife looking to join a dedicated team in a vibrant regional hospital? The Eyre and Far North Local Health Network invites enthusiastic, skilled Clinical Midwives to apply for multiple positions within the Maternity Unit at Port Lincoln Hospital - a high-demand service supporting diverse communities across South Australia.

About the Role

As a Clinical Midwife, you will:

  • Provide proficient, person-centred care to maternity patients and their families in a multidisciplinary setting
  • Oversee daily care plans and support quality clinical outcomes
  • Lead by example, supporting students and less experienced staff through clinical education and mentorship
  • Participate in clinical teaching, encouraging reflection and ongoing professional development
  • Undertake case management, therapeutic interventions, and contribute to service delivery problem-solving
  • Join in clinical audits, trials, and research to foster evidence-based practice
  • Promote respectful behaviours, model effective clinical communication, and champion a learning culture
  • Be part of improvement and change management initiatives in a contemporary rural health context

What We’re Looking For

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Midwife (with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia)
  • Hold, or be eligible to hold, a current practising certificate
  • Endorsed and credentialled for prescribing medications and ordering diagnostics within scope
  • Minimum 3 years’ contemporary experience in maternity/emergency settings. Demonstrated leadership and effective teamwork in a multidisciplinary environment
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and mentoring skills
  • Knowledge of quality improvement, relevant codes, standards, and legislation

The Ceduna District Health Services is run by the Eyre and Far North Local Health Network and includes Ceduna Hospital. Ceduna Hospital has 15 inpatient beds and provides services including emergency, surgical, general medicine, birthing, renal dialysis, diagnostic radiology and outpatients. There are also residential aged care services provided within the hospital, at the Kuhlmann Wing and Ceduna Senior Citizens Village. There is also a GP family practice, Community Health services, Allied Health services, and Child, Adolescent and Adult Mental Health services offered on the hospital site.
