SA Health Seeks Experienced Admin Officer - Respiratory Unit

About the role: 

Reporting to the Administration Manager, this role is responsible for co-ordinating the efficient and effective operation of the Respiratory Nursing Service by the provision of high-quality clerical and administrative support to staff and clients. This includes timely and accurate computer skills, managing patient enquiries and bookings, general administrative tasks and provision of reception/information services. 

Duties for the role will include: 

  • Providing confidential administrative and personal assistant support to the Clinical Practice Consultant and other Respiratory Nursing staff by overseeing the provision of administrative services within the Respiratory Nursing Service,
  • Co-ordinating the home visiting and phone review schedules for home oxygen therapy patients and maintaining electronic record of visits,
  • Exercising a high level of autonomy at times when Directors/Heads of Units are absent ensuring satisfactory assistance is provided to customers and key stakeholders,
  • Maintaining hospital clinic appointments and patient records under limited direction and ensuring that all relevant information (both electronic and hard data) is processed in an accurate and timely manner to support patient care

About you:

  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively, prioritise work appropriately with limited supervision,
  • Possess flexibility, adaptability and versatility of approach to cope with changing work requirements,
  • Ability to work to a high standard and as a member of a team,
  • Proven ability to communicate sensitively, effectively and respectfully with all customers, both face to face and over the telephone,
  • Proven experience in the use of computer software packages including Microsoft Office Applications and Sunrise
