About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Nurse Consultant to join our dynamic Safety and Quality team. In this vital role, you will provide expert clinical support to Nurse Unit Managers and Nursing Directors, using your knowledge and experience to drive high standards in nursing practice, accreditation, and risk management. You will play a key role in ensuring safe, high-quality care by identifying and addressing gaps between practice and policy, while fostering a positive and collaborative work culture focused on patient and client outcomes.

Working within Clinical Programs (CP), you will manage a specific portfolio and support the leadership team in delivering the Safety and Quality Plan. Your responsibilities will include coordination of the Safety Learning System, adverse incident reporting, clinical audit activities, and preparation of key reports such as Mortality Reviews and Quality Management Committee papers. You will also contribute to accreditation readiness, maintain quality and risk registers, and lead clinical improvement initiatives. About You

You are a skilled and motivated nursing professional with strong leadership abilities and a commitment to driving safety and quality improvements in healthcare. You excel at working collaboratively, managing projects, and fostering positive change within multidisciplinary teams.

  • Registered Nurse with current AHPRA practising certificate and 3+ years’ experience

  • Proven leadership skills in communication, conflict resolution, and change management

  • Experienced in quality, safety, and risk management projects with strong data analysis skills

  • Knowledgeable in healthcare legislation, accreditation standards, and quality improvement systems
