Overview

We invite you to join our supportive and dynamic multi-disciplinary team at Yorke and Northern Local Health Network, Port Pirie and the Mid North as a rural generalist speech pathologist.

Speech pathologists at YNLHN are rural generalists providing clinical services to adults and children with swallowing and communication difficulties. We provide services through a variety of therapy modes including 1:1, groups, telehealth, and consultative services.

As part of the Child Health and Development (CHAD) team, you will work predominantly using a multi-disciplinary model delivering client centred care. You will have the opportunity to develop your skills in communication including speech, language, and fluency, as well as supporting clients to access AAC to meet their communication needs. Paediatric feeding is also a key focus area, working as part of a multi-disciplinary feeding team. We service children aged 0 to 4 years, prior to school entry, and address the health and medical needs of children aged 0 to 18 years.

Working with adults, you will have the opportunity to develop your dysphagia management and adult communication (speech, language, and voice) skills. We work with adults in hospitals, nursing homes and in the community, including palliative care support. We also provide education and training for staff within nursing homes and residential facilities around dysphagia management and IDDSI standards.
