About the Opportunity

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the Yarrow Place team as a Social Worker, where you will be responsible for:

  • Provide comprehensive one to one and group work services such as counselling, crisis intervention and advocacy for individuals aged 16 and over who have experienced sexual assault;
  • Undertake a range of research and projects;
  • Provide education and training programs;
  • Provide referral information for individuals seeking to access counselling, support groups, legal assistance or other help or information in relation to sexual assault;
  • Liaise closely with members of other agencies, stakeholders and statutory authorities in provision of sexual assault service;
  • Contribute to the development of service goals and strategies through designated portfolio work

 

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Appropriate degree or equivalent qualification which gives eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
  • Demonstrated capacity to provide crisis and long term counselling and group work services.
  • Demonstrated capacity to undertake risk assessments with people who have complex needs and partner with them to develop sound safety and therapy plans.
  • Demonstrated experience working in crisis and trauma situations.
  • Demonstrated experience in long and short term counselling, group work and community development.
