Join us as an Associate Nurse/Midwife Unit Manager at Riverton Hospital and make a real impact!

In this vital role, you’ll assist the Nurse/Midwife Unit Manager in providing high-quality care while guiding and supporting a dynamic team of nurses and midwives. As a key member of our leadership team, you’ll help ensure continuity of care and contribute to the smooth running of the unit through effective management and development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and support to nursing and midwifery staff.
  • Collaborate on the implementation of practice changes.
  • Assist with the management of staffing, performance, recruitment, and rostering.
  • Promote quality care and ensure best practice is followed across the unit.
  • Mentor and develop less experienced staff and supervise students.

What we're looking for:

  • Registered Nurse with at least 3 years of post-registration experience or currently classified as a Clinical Nurse/Midwife.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively solve problems and manage conflicts.
  • Experience in managing teams, workloads, and meeting deadlines.
  • A flexible, innovative approach to healthcare challenges.
  • Knowledge of current legislation, healthcare standards, and quality improvement systems.

Riverton District Soldiers Memorial Hospital 

Riverton Hospital has 7 acute beds and 20 RAC aged care beds. We are a small, yet dynamic hospital servicing the local town and surrounding communities. Linked onsite with the local GP clinic, you will be exposed to a variety of patient presentations from emergency retrieval, low priority attendances, palliation, long term aged care, and everything in between – there is something for everyone at Riverton Hospital!

This is a part time vacancy, working 40 hours per fortnight over a 7 day roster and salary will be adjusted according to actual hours worked.
