About the role: 

Duties for the role will include:

  • Oversee all aspects of unit operations, including resource allocation (human, financial, physical), budget management, and ensuring adherence to governance frameworks for high-quality, safe, and person-centered care.
  • Promote a culture of compassionate, relationship-centered care that respects individual preferences, human rights, and is responsive to the needs of consumers and their families.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with multidisciplinary teams, contribute to the development and implementation of corporate policies, and lead changes to models of care to advance rehabilitation services.
  • Lead, develop, and mentor staff to create a supportive and learning environment, encouraging professional growth, accountability, and a focus on optimal patient outcomes.

About you:

  • Must be a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, holding a current practicing certificate and either be enrolled in or hold a qualification in mental health practice
  • At least three years of post-registration experience in mental health nursing.
  • Possess effective leadership skills, including highly developed abilities in communication, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and negotiation, with a proven capacity to lead and manage a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proven capability in fostering a positive workplace environment that develops staff potential and leads change management initiatives.
