About the Opportunity

An exciting opportunity is now available within CaFHS Country North, based in Port Pirie, for a dedicated Social Worker (AHP2) to join the team on an ongoing, part-time basis (0.8 FTE).

In this role, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team focused on the early identification, assessment, and care planning for families experiencing adversity and complex needs.

As a Social Worker, you will support parents through individual counselling, advocacy, and tailored support, helping them build on their strengths and resources by working in partnership with caregivers and families to:

  • Enhance coping skills
  • Strengthen problem solving skills
  • Foster a more positive outlook on the future
  • Increase awareness of where and how to access information and support

The Social Worker is based in a CaFHS site but works across regions, including Torrens House, a residential intensive program for mother with babies who are experiencing feeding, settling issues.

As the CAFHS Social Worker, you will be responsible for:

  • A high standard of social work service including individual, family and group work for more complex eligible clients.
  • A high standard of counselling and referral provided to women who are residents at Torrens House.
  • Carry out interventions including, counselling, behavioural change practice and family interventions to empower clients to make changes to improve resilience and wellbeing.
