About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated AHP3 Senior Clinical/Health Psychologist to join the Psychology Consult Service (PCS). The position is also open to experienced AHP2 Psychologists, depending on the successful applicant’s qualifications, skills, and experience.

PCS provides psychological input to a wide range of multidisciplinary teams across the Royal Adelaide Hospital (RAH) and The Queen Elizabeth Hospital (TQEH), including general medical and surgical wards, spinal, plastic surgery, vascular, and orthopaedic units. The service is responsible for delivering psychological assessments and brief therapy to inpatients during their hospital stay, while also supporting engagement with community services or private psychologists upon discharge. Part of this role will include a portion of time allocated specifically to the CALHN Allied Health General Medicine trial at TQEH.

At the AHP3 level, you will provide clinical leadership within PCS at TQEH, including service planning and evaluation, supervising staff and students, and leading research and quality improvement activities. About You

You are an experienced Clinical and/or Health Psychologist with advanced clinical, supervisory, and service development capabilities. You bring a strong foundation in psychological assessment, intervention, and team-based care, with a clear commitment to professional standards and improving health outcomes in complex clinical settings.

  • Hold general registration with the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA).

  • For AHP3, you will hold endorsement in Clinical and/or Health Psychology, and approved supervisor status at all levels.

  • Demonstrated experience in complex psychological assessment, intervention design and evaluation, and multidisciplinary collaboration.

  • Proven ability to supervise staff and students, manage clinical governance, and contribute to research, service planning, and quality initiatives.

  • Strong communication, strategic thinking, and organisational skills, with a deep understanding of ethical practice and relevant legislative frameworks.
