As an Allied Health Assistant with the Southern Adelaide Local Health Network, you'll have the exciting opportunity to work across diverse clinical areas such as FMC's Physiotherapy, General Medicine & Noarlunga Hospital's Allied Health Services. This variety ensures every shift brings new learning experiences as you support patients throughout different stages of their healthcare journey, from acute recovery to end-of-life care. Your versatile role will see you adapting to different patient needs and clinical environments, making you an invaluable member of our multidisciplinary healthcare teams.

About the role: 

Some of your duties as the Allied Health Assistant may involve:

  • Providing specific therapeutic interventions under direction of AHP staff.
  • Monitoring patient responses to therapies and reporting to the supervising Allied Health Professional (AHP). 
  • Providing chaperone for therapy interventions where a patient requests stand-by chaperone and is agreeable to the AHA acting in that role.
  • Assisting in the maintenance of stock and ordering of supplies and equipment.

About you:

  • Must hold or be working towards completion of an Allied Health Assistance Cert III or be eligible to undertake the training. 
  • Prior experience working in a service environment.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for work in a healthcare environment. 
  • Ability to work under close supervision and direction from Allied Health Professionals. 
  • Ability to attend to routine work on a daily basis. 
  • Ability to use documented resourced such as policies and procedures/work instructions to enable safe work practices.
