Are you an experienced Registered Midwife looking to make a real difference in the lives of women and families in the community? We're seeking a dedicated Community Midwife to provide essential antenatal and postnatal care in Coober Pedy, offering the opportunity to work within a supportive, multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide person-centred, clinical nursing and midwifery care in the community.

  • Monitor and review patient care plans to achieve optimal outcomes.

  • Oversee midwifery services and collaborate with other health professionals to ensure coordinated care.

  • Support the Nurse Unit Manager with clinical, educational, and management duties.

  • Contribute to clinical teaching, supervise new staff, and foster a culture of continuous learning.

  • Engage in clinical auditing, research, and evaluation projects to improve service delivery.

  • Lead in providing community-based midwifery care and ensure continuity of care.

What We're Looking For:

  • Registered Midwife with a current practicing certificate and at least 3 years’ post-qualification experience.

  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.

  • Ability to work autonomously and prioritise in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Experience guiding and mentoring less experienced staff and students.

  • Ability to innovate and adapt to the needs of the community.
