WHAT ARE WE OFFERING?

Join our General Services team at Mount Barker District Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital as a Services Assistant where you will be responsible for providing a timely, efficient, and effective service, that involves the catering, laundry and cleaning of the health unit.  Duties may include the preparation, service, and delivery of food to clients, and general housekeeping.

New Mount Barker Hospital Development

The South Australian Government has committed $320.8 million to the New Mount Barker Hospital Development which will see a major redevelopment on the existing site and provide greater access to high-quality health services closer to home for the expanding population of Mount Barker and the Adelaide Hills region.

The New Mount Barker Hospital will:

  • triple inpatient capacity from 34 to 102 beds
  • expand capacity in specialist maternity, paediatric, rehabilitation, medical, surgical and palliative care beds
  • deliver 35 consult rooms to support community and allied health, Aboriginal health and medical outpatient services
  • allow for onsite dispensing pharmacies and pathology laboratories
  • establish a new 12-bed mental health unit.

  • Undertake a range of vital support duties including food preparation, cleaning, laundry and stock handling to keep daily operations running smoothly.
  • Operate equipment safely and efficiently, following clear instructions while adhering to infection control and WHS standards.
  • Provide respectful assistance to patients, clients, and staff, maintaining confidentiality and supporting culturally safe and inclusive care.
  • Contribute to a positive, team-focused workplace by participating in training, quality improvement, and helping identify opportunities for better service delivery.
  • Enjoy variety in your work with a rotating shift roster covering mornings, afternoons, and nights, seven days a week
