About the Role

Join our dynamic team as an Allied Health Assistant (AHA) and play a vital role in delivering exceptional care across the Central Adelaide Local Health Network (CALHN). Working under the guidance of Allied Health Professionals (AHPs), you’ll contribute to high-quality clinical service delivery in the acute wards at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

Under the direction of our skilled allied health professional staff, you will assist with clinical service delivery to patients.

This may include:

  • Contributing to patient care by providing administrative assistance
  • Contribution to a safe working environment for patients and staff
  • Preparation of assessment and therapy resources as required
  • Supporting implementation of a therapy program under direction of allied health for example group activities, personal care- dressing, grooming and showering practice, upper limb rehabilitation, delirium management, exercise programs
  • Communication of relevant issues relating to patient care to the treating therapist

About You

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Allied Health Assistant with the skills and experience to thrive in a fast-paced healthcare environment. To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Qualifications & Experience – Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance (or equivalent) and experience in a caregiving or therapeutic role.
  • Skills & Abilities – Exceptional communication skills, compassionate nature, value teamwork, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage workload, prioritise tasks, work independently or within a team with minimal supervision and adapt to change.
  • Clinical Awareness – Ability to recognise patient progress or deterioration, take appropriate action, and provide accurate handovers.
  • Professionalism & Commitment – Reliability, confidentiality, and a commitment to ongoing learning, workplace safety, and ethical patient care.
