About the role: 

Reporting to the Technical Manager some of your duties for the role will include:

  • Undertake planned maintenance, inspections and functional checks, to support the effective delivery of preventive maintenance services for general biomedical devices and systems
  • Assist with processes to ensure biomedical devices and systems meet required technical standards by scheduling and undertaking maintenance and rotation of devices and systems being used across SALHN
  • Assist with the technical development of new approaches, methodologies and techniques by creating and maintaining documentation for biomedical investigations, to facilitate continuous improvement objectives
  • Participate in technical forums, conferences and committees that advance the practices and technologies of biomedical engineering

About you:

  • Experience in the acquisition, maintenance and repair of electronic equipment to meet strict engineering standards
  • Experience in contributing to policy development, analysis and review, and in managing complex projects within a biomedical engineering environment
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements and practices as they relate to biomedical devices and systems
  • Experience in the delivery of research and development services and remedial and preventive technical equipment maintenance
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills across a multi-disciplinary environment including the capacity to undertake effective liaison with a range of technical and non-technical stakeholders

This is a single vacancy, with two possible appointment classifications. The successful applicants will be appointed in the position appropriate to their skills, qualifications, and experience.
