Casual Senior Sleep Technician Role - Flexible Shifts at SALHN
About the role:
Reporting to the Sleep Laboratory Manager, this role is responsible for performing diagnostic and therapeutic sleep studies on patients and prepares reports on these studies to contribute to optimum patient treatment. Senior Sleep Technologists assist in staff training and assessment and provide advanced support for research projects. Duties for the role will include:
- Produce high quality physiological recordings using a range of monitoring equipment,
- Co-ordinate quality assurance testing and exercises where required,
- Contributing to the development of an integrated team approach and culture which is highly responsive to the needs of our consumers,
- Staff member desired availability is Monday to Thursdays. Wednesdays are essential. Various shifts will be on offer: 3:30pm to 8pm, 4:30pm to 11pm and 8pm to 7am.
About you:
- Bachelor of Science or equivalent in the field of physiology, psychology, neuroscience or nursing,
- Able to apply logical problem solving to equipment malfunctions or non-standard test conditions,
- Able to learn and develop new skills in the collection and analyses of physiological data
- Experience in the use of physiological monitors,
- Experience in the monitoring and detailed analysis of polysomnographic recordings
- Experience with CPAP equipment
