About the Role

We’re seeking a passionate and dedicated Social Worker to join the Mental Health Clinical Program at the Central Adelaide Local Health Network (CALHN). In this rewarding role, you’ll deliver consumer-centred, strengths-based rehabilitation services tailored to individuals across youth, adult, and older persons’ mental health services. You’ll be part of a multidisciplinary team providing holistic, recovery-focussed support—working both one-on-one and through group programs—to help consumers build skills, confidence, and independence in their daily lives.

As a key member of the team, you’ll use your clinical expertise to conduct assessments, develop care plans, and lead interventions that enhance social functioning and community engagement. You’ll play a vital role in promoting hope, inclusion, and wellbeing through collaborative partnerships with families, carers, NGOs, and community services. If you’re committed to recovery-oriented practice and ready to empower consumers to live meaningful lives in the community of their choice, we’d love to hear from you.

About You

You are a compassionate and skilled Social Worker with a strong commitment to recovery-oriented mental health care. You bring a consumer-centred approach to everything you do and thrive in a multidisciplinary team environment. To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Relevant qualifications with eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).

  • Proven experience delivering individual and group-based therapeutic interventions, including counselling, crisis intervention, and brief therapy, within a clinical mental health setting.

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with consumers, families, carers, and community agencies, especially for those with complex and enduring mental health needs.

  • Sound knowledge of recovery principles, psychosocial rehabilitation, group processes, and relevant mental health legislation and clinical frameworks.
