About the Role
The Food and Nutrition Advisor plays a key role in delivering safe, high-quality, and person-centred catering and menu services across the BHFLHN. You will support compliance with food safety and nutrition standards, guide quality improvement initiatives, and work closely with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient and resident wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities

Support the development, implementation, and review of site-specific menus that align with SA Health Menu and Nutrition Standards and the IDDSI Framework.

Collaborate with cooks, chefs, general services staff, and allied health professionals across multiple sites to improve catering services.

Provide training and support to ensure safe food practices and nutritional quality in residential and acute settings.

Conduct site visits, monitor compliance with relevant food safety regulations, and assist in audits and quality improvement.

Lead change initiatives to enhance food service delivery in a large, diverse regional network.
About You
You are a highly organised, collaborative, and proactive professional with:

Experience in large-scale food service operations and menu planning

Working knowledge of the IDDSI Framework, SA Health menu standards, and Aged Care Quality Standards

Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on leadership and education

The ability to work across multiple facilities within a large geographical area
Desirable qualifications include Certificate IV in Kitchen Management and/or Certificate III in Commercial Cooking.
