Join Our Team as Nurse Unit Manager – Residential Aged Care – Lead with Excellence Across Care, Compliance, and Coordination

Are you a senior nursing professional passionate about aged care leadership? We’re seeking a highly skilled Nurse Unit Manager – Residential Aged Care to oversee and support key nursing and management functions that ensure safe, high-quality care and compliance across residential services. In this critical leadership role, you’ll influence practice standards, resource management, and team culture across the aged care environment.

About the Role:

As Nurse Unit Manager – Residential Aged Care, you will use your clinical expertise and leadership skills to support both Nurse/Midwife Unit Managers and Nursing Directors across a broad range of responsibilities. These include staffing methodologies, recruitment, human resource management, financial administration, ACFI funding management, resident admissions, accreditation processes, and risk and resource management.

You will be accountable for nursing management outcomes, ensuring alignment between policy and practice, and promoting a safe, positive, and high-functioning workplace culture. This role may involve overseeing specific portfolios, managing aged care programs or services, or coordinating projects and research aimed at improving resident outcomes. You will also provide after-hours leadership across the health service, overseeing staff allocation, patient flow, and significant operational events in consultation with executive leadership.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
  • Registered Nurse/Midwife with at least 3 years post registration experience.
  • Demonstrated competence in the relevant area of nursing practice in accordance with the appropriate standards of practice.
  • Demonstrated experience in management and leadership roles.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing projects within an aged care setting.
