  • Employment Full time - Term Contract (temporary up to February 2029)

As per the SMOEA 2022, the total term of employment with SA Health will be 3 years. Rotations following the initial 4-month Paediatric Anaesthesia Registrar allocation will be determined in line with your training and SA Health's requirements. This may include transfer to other SA Health locations to perform work appropriate to classification, skills and capabilities.

 

The Opportunity

Exciting opportunities exist for a suitably qualified Medical Practitioner to join us in Surgical Services – Paediatric Anaesthesia.

  • In this role, you will deliver anaesthesia and acute pain management to both public and private paediatric surgical and medical patients under the care of the Women’s and Children’s Hospital. 
  • Working as part of the Children’s Anaesthesia Department, you will contribute to the delivery of optimal and safe paediatric anaesthesia care under consultant supervision at the WCH (and occasionally may provide a paediatric anaesthesia service to the Royal Adelaide Hospital (RAH) as required).
  • On occasions, may provide anaesthesia assistance for out of hours obstetric or gynaecologic emergencies, when able to.
  • The Registrar will demonstrate a commitment to clinical teaching of junior Anaesthesia Registrars and participate in research projects and audits within the Department.
  • The Registrar will also contribute to administrative roles in the department, such as preparation of the Registrar roster
  • This position includes rotational shift work, including after hours and weekends.
