As per the SMOEA 2022, the total term of employment with SA Health will be 3 years. Rotations following the initial 12-month Paediatric Chief Medical Resident placement will be determined in line with your training and SA Health’s requirements. This may include transfer to other SA Health locations to perform work appropriate to classification, skills and capabilities.

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity exists for a suitably qualified Medical Practitioner to join us in Paediatric Medicine as the Paediatric Chief Medical Resident Advanced Paediatric Trainee.

The Chief Resident Paediatrics has a leadership role within the Women’s and Children’s Health Network (WCHN) and advocates for Trainee Medical Officers (TMO’s) by participating on internal and external committees and meetings. The role includes pastoral care, education and teaching activities, workforce planning and participating in the orientation program for all TMO’s. The Paediatric Chief Medical Resident supports the Afterhours Coordinator and the TMO Unit to coordinate the after-hours roster.

This position is 1.0 FTE overall with 0.4 FTE being flexible for non-clinical time and 0.6 FTE clinical which will be negotiated with the successful applicant.

The Chief Resident may be required to contribute to the After-Hours roster by being rostered for 1 Reserve shift per month.
