About the role

The Senior Paediatric Audiologist - Diagnostic Clinical Lead serves as the clinical expert responsible for leading and coordinating the daily operations of South Australia's comprehensive, evidence-based paediatric diagnostic audiology services, with a specialised focus on electrophysiological assessments for infants and children within Women's and Children's Health Network. 

Key duties of the role

  • Deliver specialised diagnostic paediatric audiology service to the inpatients and outpatients of WCHN
  • Provide comprehensive behavioural and electrophysiological assessment, including interpretation of results, family feedback and counselling support
  • Coordinate allocation of diagnostic assessments across clinical settings, including liaison with ENT, theatre services and sedation team to support efficient and timely patient care
  • Lead clinical supervision, mentoring and professional development of junior audiologists
  • Develop and implement evidence-based clinical protocols and procedures, training programs, and educational initiatives for staff, students, and community partnerships

Skills and Experience

  • Degree in Audiology with eligibility for full Audiology Australia membership
  • Extensive experience in paediatric audiology
  • Demonstrated expertise in infant diagnostics and electrophysiological assessments 
  • Proven team leadership, clinical supervision, and teaching coordination experience
  • Experience in clinical governance, including the development and implementation of protocols and procedures
  • Demonstrated capability in leading quality improvement initiatives and implementing research into clinical practice
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
