About the Role

Looking to step into mental health or broaden your experience? Join CALHN’s Older Persons Mental Health Services Rapid Access Service (RAS) and work across community, rehabilitation and acute settings.

As an Occupational Therapist, you will deliver evidence-based assessments, interventions and behaviour support for older people with complex needs, including BPSD and enduring mental illness. Working in residential aged care and community settings, you will partner with consumers, carers and providers to enhance safety, independence and quality of life.

You will contribute to behavioural assessment and support planning, support safe transitions of care, and help remove barriers to discharge. As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will also provide consultation, education and discipline-specific expertise to improve outcomes across the service.

This role offers exposure to complex and varied presentations, opportunities to supervise students and junior staff, and access to ongoing professional development, supervision and quality improvement initiatives across a large health network.

About You

You are a compassionate and capable Occupational Therapist ready to make a meaningful impact in older persons mental health.

  • Degree in Occupational Therapy and AHPRA registration Experience in assessment and intervention for complex needs
  • Strong communication and teamwork across multidisciplinary settings
  • Ability to plan, prioritise and manage clinical workload
  • Commitment to evidence-based practice and ongoing development
