Overview:

  • The Cancer Data & Intelligence (CANDI) Platform is a bold, statewide transformation program reshaping how cancer care is delivered in South Australia. By unifying cancer-related data from both public and private providers into a single, enterprise-scale platform, CANDI will unlock real-time insights, smarter clinical decision-making, and evidence-based improvements in cancer outcomes for all South Australians.
  • As the CANDI Technical Lead, you will provide strategic technical leadership for this landmark program. You will set the technical vision, architecture, and standards for the CANDI Platform, ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, and aligned with health sector and government requirements. Your leadership will directly influence the quality, reliability, and sustainability of the platform that underpins statewide cancer care transformation.
  • Working in close partnership with the CANDI Clinical Business Lead and CANDI Program Manager, you will ensure that technical solutions align seamlessly with clinical needs, operational realities, and delivery governance. Together, you will enable the delivery of a robust, enterprise-grade data platform that supports clinical decision-making and delivers real value across the cancer care ecosystem.

About You:

You are an experienced technology leader who thrives at the intersection of data, healthcare, and large-scale transformation. You bring:

  • A proven ability to define and lead technical strategy, architecture, and standards for complex, enterprise-scale data platforms.
  • Strong capability translating clinical and business requirements into secure, scalable technical solutions appropriate for sensitive health data.
  • Deep experience delivering cloud-based data and analytics platforms within government or highly regulated environments.
  • Strong product and platform thinking, balancing innovation with governance, security, and operational sustainability.
  • Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary technical teams across architecture, data engineering, analytics, AI, DevOps, and security.
  • A track record of establishing and maintaining enterprise-grade data integration, quality, governance, privacy, and security frameworks.
  • Experience working within, or alongside, the South Australian health system, including an understanding of digital health governance, compliance, and stakeholder environments.

Criminal History Screening Requirement

  • A ‘National Police Certificate’ NPC (also known as a ‘Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check’ NCCHC) for employment involving no contact with vulnerable groups is required for this position (general employment).
  • A DHS Working with Children Check (WWCC) is required for this position.

Immunisation Risk for this position is Category C (minimal patient contact)

SA Health Services are required to implement the Addressing vaccine preventable disease: Occupational assessment, screening and vaccination policy in the workplace.
