About the Role

The Senior Clinician Provides expert mental health clinical leadership and direct therapy for emotionally dysregulated mothers and infants, delivering and adapting Mother-Infant Dialectical Behaviour Therapy via telehealth. Leads assessment, care coordination and program delivery, works with researchers and multidisciplinary teams, and is accountable for high-quality clinical outcomes and continuity of care.

Key duties of the role

  • Deliver expert, evidence-based mental health care to consumers and families, ensuring high-quality clinical outcomes through direct and indirect care.
  • Provide clinical leadership and contribute to a positive team culture, promoting safe, supportive and collaborative practice environments.
  • Support and strengthen health service systems through effective care coordination, service delivery and quality improvement activities.
  • Contribute to education, learning and professional development, supporting individual and team capability building.
  • Participate in research, evaluation and evidence generation to inform best practice and continuous service improvement.

Skills and Experience

  • Tertiary qualification and professional registration in a relevant mental health discipline (e.g. Nursing, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy) with eligibility for registration with AHPRA or the relevant professional body.
  • Postgraduate or advanced training/experience in mental health, with demonstrated capability in perinatal and/or infant mental health practice.
  • Significant clinical experience delivering evidence-based assessment and therapeutic interventions to consumers with complex mental health needs, including work with families and infants.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams and liaise with external agencies.
  • Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, standards and ethical frameworks, including child protection, safety and quality standards, and contemporary evidence-based practice.
