Join YNLHN as a Surgical Associate Nurse Unit Manager and provide expert guidance to nursing teams while supporting high-quality, patient-centred care in our surgical wards. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide proficient nursing/midwifery care and support continuity of care across the surgical unit.
  • Assist the Nurse/Midwife Unit Manager with implementing practice changes and improving service delivery.
  • Support team leadership, including supervision, mentoring, and development of staff and students.
  • Contribute to operational management, including rostering, work allocation, performance management, and resource planning.
  • Utilise clinical expertise to assess undiagnosed patients and inform effective care plans.
  • Apply and maintain knowledge of relevant computer systems and software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Sunrise.

What We’re Looking For:

We’re seeking a motivated, experienced Registered Nurse/Midwife with at least 3 years post-registration experience (or currently classified as a Clinical Nurse/Midwife). You’ll have advanced clinical assessment skills, experience supervising staff and students, and the ability to lead a team in a fast-paced surgical environment. Strong organisational, communication, and computer skills are essential, along with a commitment to high-quality patient care and continuous professional development. You must be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse/Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, holding (or eligible to hold) a current practising certificate.
