Our Allied and Community Health Teams are multi-disciplinary teams who work together towards the common goal of improving health outcomes of our community members. Services are based in Port Augusta and Whyalla, with regular outreach clinics held in Roxby Downs, Quorn, Hawker, Maree and Leigh Creek. We offer a wide range of centre-based, in-home and community-based services to people of all ages and tailor our services to best meet our client needs. About the Role:

As the Nurse Consultant – Palliative Care, you will bring advanced clinical knowledge, leadership and independent decision-making to deliver exceptional care for patients with complex palliative needs. Practising at an expert level, you will work both autonomously and collaboratively, ensuring high-quality, evidence-based care that supports patients, families and the broader multidisciplinary team. You will provide specialist clinical guidance, lead improvements in practice, and uphold accountability for your clinical decisions, professional advice and delegated care. With an expanded scope of practice endorsed by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, this role offers the opportunity to influence service development and drive best-practice palliative care across the Local Health Network.

About You:

  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds,
    or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate with the notation of Nurse Practitioner.
  • Registered Nurse/Midwife with at least 3 years post registration experience.
  • Demonstrated advanced level of nursing practice in the care and management of Palliative Care
  • Experience in developing policies, procedures and models of care in the relevant area of clinical practice.
  • Experience in the supervision of student nurses, enrolled nurses and less experienced registered nurses.

  • This is a part time vacancy, working 64 hours per fortnight and salary will be adjusted according to actual hours worked.
