  • Full time - Term Contract (until 4 Feb 2029) 

As per the SMOEA 2022, the total term of employment with SA Health will be 3 years. Rotations following the initial 12-months allocation as Advanced Trainee Fellow Paediatric Rehab will be determined in line with your training and SA Health’s requirements. This may include transfer to other SA Health locations to perform work appropriate to classification, skills and capabilities.

About the Opportunity

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the Paediatric Rehabilitation team as an Advanced Trainee/ Fellow, where you will be responsible for:

  • Provides high-quality inpatient, outpatient, and community-based clinical services under consultant supervision within the Department of Paediatric Rehabilitation Services at WCHN.
  • Participates in hospital, community, and Cerebral Palsy Register clinics.
  • Focuses on restoring or managing clients’ functional levels using evidence-based best practices.
  • Collaborates with other health professionals in a multidisciplinary approach.
  • Adheres to the service philosophy that disability management encompasses physical, psychosocial, and vocational aspects and takes a life skills approach.
  • Engages in a formal training program for Paediatric Rehabilitation.
  • Meets the training requirements set by the Australasian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (BMBS) or equivalent,
  • Registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with General Registration
  • Clinical skills appropriate for the duties performed in the work unit
  • Clinical experience and competence in the practice of paediatric medicine
  • Completed RACP Basic Paediatric Training requirements and progressed to Advanced Training
